Are You a Prophet?
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13
So, how do you know you are a prophet? How do you know I am?
Lets look at some indicators:
- Has anyone ever prophesied that you will or do hold any office
(Apostle, Prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher)? - When you pray, do you find your self speaking things that you “don’t know where they came from”?
- Do you have a heart of compassion for God’s people?
- Do you find yourself wanting to simply be alone with God?
- Are people attracted to you for your advice (especially people in the world)?
- Do you think you are a Prophet?
- Do you frequently find yourself “knowing” a lot about people
- Do you ever find yourself “seeing” what is behind another person’s actions?
- Do you have a heart of compassion for the Lost?
- Are you able to understand or interpret people’s dreams?
How do you know I am a prophet?
Matthew 7:16 states you will know the truth about a person “by their fruits”. And thats how you know if this ministry is legit, and if its prophets actually are just that. Post a question, dream, etc – and weigh our answer. As my Dad used to say “The proof is in the pudding”.
Do our answers come to pass? Does our history indicate fruit? Are our answers graceful and seasoned with Christ? I believe you will answer yes.
If you find yourself answering yes to many of the above questions, there is a high likelihood that you are a Prophet or Prophetess. Its not a guarantee, but these indicators will help you determine if you have been called by God to operate in the Prophetic Office.
