I dreamt I was at my friend Cindy's house. The house was not her house in real life--this one was sparsely decorated with antiques. She was sitting in a chair with a newspaper crying about an article. The article was about a man who back in the 60s was friends with another man who killed a black man. The man in the article had apparently killed a lady and himself. My friend Cindy was very upset because of the way the man was portrayed in the article. This man apparently went to our church. I knew of him, but didn't know him.

I said something to her that was not very comforting. I think because I felt the man was responsible for the killing of the black man in the 60s. So, then she showed me the article. When I read the article, I realized I knew the woman the man had killed. I felt very sad at that point and said, 'I knew these people'. Then, my mother came and she asked me did another friend of mine named Grace still attend my church. I said, 'No, she and Kathy (another friend) left.' My mom said, 'Well, that's good because the church did nothing when Mama died.'

In the background, there was a lady whose husband was an elder of my church. He was a vet and suffered PTSD. He killed himself this past year. Anyway, his widow, made an under her breath comment about what my mom said--basically she was agreeing that my church did nothing when her husband died.

Then Cindy and I went outside. We were supposed to be in my current house in the front yard. With us were a couple of people from my church. Two of them I didn't know. One of them was a guy named Don who works for Cindy's husband. The other was a guy named Lance who used to be on my church's praise team with me. Don also is on the praise team, but he plays guitar, while Lance and I are vocalists. Anyway, someone put a large log down the middle of my yard. There was no grass or trees like my current house has. Don and I were apparently married in this dream. Then Lance said to us both that we shouldn't sell the house because in 10 years it will be worth more than double what it is now. Then Lance said that since we had put so much work into remodeling, it didn't make sense for us to sell. Neither Don nor I said nothing.

The next scene, my mom gave me a quilt that my grandmother made. This is not the grandmother I mentioned earlier, but my father's mother. Anyway, my mom gave me the quilt and covered me with it. This particular quilt was given to my mom and dad when they got married. The pattern on it is The Little Dutch Boy and Girl with Wedding rings. In real life, it was blue, but in the dream it was white. For some reason, it was important that I recognized the pattern. In fact, I've only seen this particular pattern from my grandmother. Also, I remember saying to my mother in the dream that I wish I'd been able to get some of the other things my grandmother made. In real life, she was very adept and embroidery and needle crafts, and she made a whole bunch of linens for my parents when they married.

I was lying outside in the bed of the truck. Don, who was supposed to be my husband was lying on the ground. I wanted him to be with me, but I felt like I didn't want to push it. It was like he was married to me because it was the right thing to do, but there I don't believe he 'loved' me. It had something to do with saving a house. This wasn't the house I currently live in, but it was like we were building a new one.

That was the end of the dream. In real life, I have no romantic interest in Don whatsoever, nor does he of me. We don't even speak to each other.

Any idea what this means? There's a lot going on--death, suicide, marriage, racism. It's a lot, but I feel it means something. Maybe it's just stuff in my own head.

In the dream I was at home. It was a normal day, and all the sudden it was like I was told to get in my truck and drive. I walked outside and saw some neighbors quickly packing their own vehicle but it seemed otherwise quiet among the other houses in the area. I was told drive north so I did, every turn, every stop, I was told to do it. Not by a voice but rather a strong feeling that this is what I should do. In the dream I stopped for gas. When I saw the TV there was news of nationwide hunts for terrorists and criminals. They showed faces of people being looked for but I knew none of them were criminals or terrorists, they were all those who chose to follow God in their lifetime. I saw average men with hunting rifles in large groups hunting them down,I knew some were beheaded when caught alive.

Every detail was planned. Sometimes I was told to get off the road and hide the truck in brush and just wait, other times to drive off the road into open fields. These hunting parties seemed to know a general idea of where we would be, their insight into finding us was not normal. The dream ended when I was told to drive off road towards a barn. Inside were others hiding and heading north. We waited and slept and around nightfall I was awoken by that feeling and told to take them all on foot into a forest. When we left the barn I could see car and truck lights heading up the road towards the barn, police lights too. As we entered the forest, I woke up.

Interesting enough the people in the barn were all couples. When I arrived I evened out the number of men and women to fifty fifty and even stranger felt an instant sort of affection for the lone woman of the group. A minor detail in the grand scheme of the dream but there none the less.

So maybe I was just having a very strange and life like dream but it doesnt hurt to ask if there was anything to it.

Then this morning while I was on the computer and doing devotions, I could see a scorpion with its tail up and running away.
